Opening and Closing Times

After weekday firing finishes, the gates to the range walks usually open on Friday afternoons – they aim for around 4:30pm, but the exact time depends on range clearance and the weather. Once open, you can enjoy the walks right through the weekend until the gates close again at 8am on Monday morning.

The vehicle gate to Tyneham village itself opens at 9am on days when there’s no military activity, and closes again at dusk each evening.

If you’d like to explore the history in more depth, the exhibitions in Tyneham School and Church are open from 10am to 4pm on non-firing days – well worth a visit for a real feel of what life here was like.
